  • Hello! My name is Lael, and I’m going into my senior year at UA studying physics and applied mathematics. I recently joined the IRIS lab to explore and contribute to research being done in a biophysics-related area of study. I greatly enjoy reading, being in nature, and making music. 
Why IRIS?
  • ​​The mix of experimental and computational work in an interdisciplinary environment has been one of my favorite parts of IRIS! I’ve been able to learn about new lab and data analysis techniques while also finding ways to apply my background in physics and machine learning.

  • Hi, my name is Bradley Curenton. I’m in my sophomore year at UA studying chemistry and applied mathematics. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, bowling, and traveling to new places.
Why IRIS?
  • With applications in both chemical and mathematical methods, IRIS lab allows for me to gain knowledge and experience in the two fields of study I am most interested in. Having seen the effects of Alzheimer’s disease with people in my family, I enjoy learning more about the disease and the current research being done to better understand its manifestations.

  • My family has been affected by Alzheimer’s disease, so I am very passionate about the work being done in the IRIS lab. The interdisciplinary nature of the IRIS lab research makes it a great place to explore new ideas related to Alzheimer's disease.
